The Chinese experts arrived on time at 9:00, and then went into their own treatment rooms to see the patients there. One patient Salas Patricia had two operations for his left-hand fracture before, but the recovery was not good, and many small red spots shown on the left mid-arm. The President of World Federation of Acupuncture-moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the Chairman of China Association for Acupuncture and Moxibustion Liu Baoyan picked up a few fine needles, burned them in the fire and then quickly inserted into the skin of Salas’s left arm, ‘This is fire needle, with the function of dredging the meridians and activating the blood’, he said.

‘More and more Poles have known about good effectiveness and less side-effects about herbal medicine through relatives’ and friends’ experiences. And herbal medicine could help a lot for conditions which western medicine is not curative, such as cancer. So Chinese medicine is more and more popular as people really need it,’ said Marek Kalmus, President of Polish Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Poland human intangible cultural heritage ‘acupuncture-moxibustion exhibition’ and health forum ‘impression of Chinese medicine’, hosted by WFAS and Confucius Institute in Krakow, started with Chinese traditional shows including martial arts and Taichi in the university of Wisconsin at 11 o'clock.
The audience are watching martial arts shows.
Chinese Ambassador to Poland Xu Jian said that acupuncture is being recognized by more and more countries around the world and there are acupuncturists in Poland, but generally the Polish people have little knowledge of acupuncture-moxibustion. The exhibition and academic exchange activities related to acupuncture-moxibustion will enable the Polish people to know further about Chinese history, culture and acupuncture-moxibustion, to promote the communication between the two countries, and to enhance mutual understanding and further cooperation in the framework of ´The Belt and the Road’.
President Liu Baoyan expressed that acupuncture-moxibustion has been widely used in hundreds of countries for more than 500 hundred diseases, and the effectiveness are being proved with various scientific methods.
WFAS has 205 group members located in 54 countries and regions in the world. This event is one of the series activities of WFAS B&R acupuncture-moxibustion tour in Poland. Till now, The B&R acupuncture-moxibustion tour has been successfully held in Iran, Mauritius, South Africa, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Singapore and some other countries.

Marek Kalmus said that integration of Chinese and Western medicine has great prospects for conditions where western medicine is powerless. However, most of the western medicine doctors are not familiar with Chinese medicine, ‘It would be better that Tong Ren Tang and other Chinese medical organizations could organize some seminars in European countries to let western medicine doctors know more about Chinese medicine and contribute to integration of Chinese and Western medicine’.
